PALATINE – Romans Capital – The Small/Medium Army Community has been seeing a lot of hype go around in servers lately as they get ready to stand strong in the ongoing Army World Cup tournament. In this post, we will be talking about a leadership induction, a formidable figure in the community.

Recently, the Club Penguin Romans announced a returning leader in their server. This individual goes by the name of Ulysses Nardo. Ulysses Nardo is a prominent figure in the Small/Medium Army community and is known as a S/M legend. Ulysses Nardo led romans in the past along with Smurf, another prominent figure in the army community. The Romans is also in the death group of the ongoing Army World Cup tournament right now. The Romans have been showing an outstanding performance in the tournament so far under the leadership of Znation, and Csani. Ulysses Nardo being added to the leadership could play a huge role in how things go in the Romans.

Ulysses Nardo started his army community being enlisted in the major army known as the Army of Club Penguin. He enlisted there in January 2011. Soon after he left ACP in 2012, he joined an army called Global Defenders. After joining many other armies, Ulysses decided to create his own army called Onlooking Snow Ninjas. Ulysses gained army leading experience from joining plenty of armies with some majors being in the mix, creating his own army, and writing for a league known as Club Penguin Army Central.

We at the Small Medium Army League were able to reach out to Ulysses Nardo to gain insight on his leadership induction back to Romans.

What made you decide to rejoin the Romans leadership?

I was previously 3rd in command of the Water Vikings, where I invested several months working to improve team cohesion and promote recognition of diverse perspectives. When these efforts didn’t lead to meaningful change, I decided to transition to Romans, an environment better aligned with my approach to collaboration and professional growth. Following that, I spent a month as an Advisor, during which Smurf and Twitchy approached me and asked me to resume leadership, as Romans was in need of a US leader. After reflecting on the offer and seeing ways I could contribute to the army’s growth, I decided to accept.

Do you think your leadership in Romans now will be better than your leadership there in the past?

Yes, I believe so. My experience in Water Vikings, despite its challenges, gave me valuable insight into how larger armies operate. Learning successful strategies, such as how Cobra revitalized the Water Vikings in 2024-25, combined with Romans’ more structured and collaborative oversight under Smurf and Twitchy, positions me to apply these lessons and lead effectively.

Do you have any plans or goals during your time in leadership?

I plan to implement a system for evaluating staff performance that promotes accountability and prepares team members for advancement. I also want to enhance event coordination and engagement by introducing RPG-style elements and structured tasks to make participation more interactive and rewarding

I believe one of the most important aspects of army leadership is creating a space where members feel their ideas are truly heard and considered. By carefully weighing perspectives and discussing potential outcomes together, leaders build trust and make team members feel valued. Equally, it’s essential to take concerns seriously, even when they may seem minor, and to address them thoughtfully rather than dismissing them. This method strengthens respect for leadership and ensures staff are not held accountable for mistakes resulting from leadership decisions. I hope these principles serve as a helpful guide for all army leaders striving to foster trust, respect, and effective collaboration.

There have been many inductions to leadership positions in the Small/Medium Army Community, but nothing as big as this. With the goals set from Ulysses, the Romans could see a big shift of change in their army. Will Ulysess prevail with his goals? How does he intend to make Romans better than it already is?
