ROME, Capital of the Roman Empire – Another Romans leader departs from the army as TD999 announces his retirement less than a week following the retirement of former Romans leader, Bull Hour.

The Romans of Club Penguin are one of the earliest Club Penguin Armies founded on October 6, 2006, by Explorer777, only a week after the founding of the Army of Club Penguin. Since its founding, the Romans have opened and closed for several generations. The current generation of the Romans opened earlier this year in June and maxed a size of 16 at their revival event. Since their return, the Romans have consistently appeared on the weekly Top Ten’s and have also been ranked the #1 S/M army of August. They have also recently participated in the CPA Organizations Summer Blitz tournament and finished #3.

TD999, also known as Monstah, first joined Club Penguin Armies in November of 2019 when he was recruited into the Redemption Force. Since joining the army community, he has served in several armies including the Doritos, Ice Warriors, Dark Warriors, and the Light Troops. He has also held leadership positions in the Special Weapons And Tactics and the Water Troops. He is best known for founding the Secret Service army in 2020 which quickly became an S/M powerhouse and in later generations, evolved into a Major Army and was one of the top major armies in its latest generation.

On June 23, 2025, TD999 was promoted to the leadership of the Romans army. He led the Romans for over 2 months. Following the recent Summer Blitz tournament, on August 30, 2025, TD999 announced that he would be retiring from the army.

How do you think the Romans will be impacted by your retirement?

I initially only decided to lead during a very rough time following some internal drama when Romans were about to shut down despite having only opened. But now it is more stable than before and is under really capable people including my former co-leaders Judy, Games, the current High command team and new additions to be announced soon. I have no doubt that they will take Romans to greater heights than I ever could.

Do you ever see yourself returning to the army in the future?

I’d hope not. I’m in my final college year and should honestly be shifting my focus to other things. Although Secret Service will always be an exception should it ever return, I do not see myself being actively involved in the community again.

What is your favourite memory from your time in the Romans?

It’s hard to pick one as I’ve had quite a few memories. But I’d probably pick the recent Summer Blitz tournament despite us not winning. It brought us all together. Maybe the multiple battles and events a day made it stressful/too much at times but that’s probably something I wouldn’t forget.

Not really. I’d just tell everyone still in the community to have fun whilst ur part of it first and foremost and let the others have fun too.
